Estimators

Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

Foreman

In charge of large and complex projects that employ many different electricians at the same time, and supervises the project as a whole, from the large-scale down to the details. On such a project, a foreman is responsible for providing on-site direction and leadership for workers in order to complete jobs within specific guidelines that include quality standards, time requirements, and budget considerations.

Managing a team, evaluating employees' progress, training new team members, attending meetings, identifying conflicts, and resolving problems are all personnel responsibilities that an electrical foreman may have. Other work responsibilities often include organizing and planning a construction project, directing work, inspecting installations for quality, making sure code standards are met, and ensuring job safety.

Foreman Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner

  • Notify client immediately if plan needs to be adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances

  • Maintain a stock of common materials in your service vehicle

  • See that all tools and equipment are functioning properly at the beginning of shift

Journeyman/Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly-skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team of trade professionals. In this role, you will demonstrate your expert knowledge of electrical systems and your outstanding problem solving skills as you perform all necessary installations, maintenance, and repairs. To succeed in this position, you will be reliable, hardworking, and a team player with a desire to continually learn and improve your skill set.

Journeyman/Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner

  • Conduct all work to the very best of your ability, as if it were your own home/business

  • Follow specifications on blueprints/diagrams/technical drawings for installations

  • Conduct all repairs and installations according to code

  • Utilize all safety equipment and follow all safety regulations and guidelines

  • Maintain a neat and organized work environment

  • Report and issues to management

Apprentices

Support Electricians in the field with installation, operations and repair of electrical systems. They assist with and perform installation and maintenance tasks in order to ensure the effective operation of various electrical equipment, while attending the 4 year apprenticeship program at IEC Chesapeake School.
